Student Development
A fully encompassing education programme develops students socially, intellectually, physically and aesthetically to prepare them for life in a world dominated by change, speed and pressure. UDEF students are encouraged to develop the skills and attitudes to become caring, committed and contributing citizens who respect other individuals, appreciate intellectual property and understand the value of ownership and achievement. Students who are able to empathise with other societies in the world and who communicate with caring compassion and considerate kindness.
The Language of Integration
The bedrock of UDEF philosophy is a strong respect for and deep appreciation of cultural differences and the recognition of the equality of human rights. Through the International Baccalaureate study programme all students are part of a uniquely international community that is founded on mutual
respect and intellectually reasoned understanding.
Setting a Challenging Curriculum
To challenge children you need a total understanding of how they learn. We respond to every stage of development by creating curricula that are challenging, engaging and wholly satisfying. This involves the creation of a variety of instructional methods that are designed to fulfil the uniquely personal needs of students with different aptitudes of learning, retention and exploration.
To this end, our learning activities are structured to prompt curiosity and nurture creativity, encourage intellectual risk-taking and develop critical and independent thinking. In the end, we want to develop contented students, who are happy with who they are, aware of their skills and equipped to tackle the world and make the choices that will be necessary to succeed and achieve their own personal goals
and ambitions.
Finding the Best Staff
UDEF educators are highly competent and thoroughly dedicated professionals. They have acquired a wealth of international schools experience and they know what is needed to create the unique harmony that is necessary for sustained success. All are highly qualified, hugely talented and committed to the UDEF on longterm contracts because settled schools are happy schools.
Creating a Community
An international school is by definition a bond of faculty, staff, families and students. Our strength
is in our unity and by working cohesively together we can encourage and positively influence the development of the skills and attitudes that are the remit of responsible citizenship throughout our connected community. To achieve this primary intention, we actively seek the involvement and co-operation of parents and the community in all that we do and in everything that we can become.
