Urban Development – Are we trying hard enough?
The Urban Development and Education Foundation (UDEF) exists because its founder members are determined to make a difference. We all care, but do we really care enough? We all try, but do we really try hard enough? With a little self-belief and a lot of conviction, you really can make a difference. In education and urban development wonderful things can happen that benefit everyone. All it takes is
an organisation that is focused on making a lasting difference and the courage of belief.

A model that works
Working from a global platform, UDEF is working hard to make a difference you can measure. For the past ten years and more, we have operated a recycling plant in the UK collecting waste paper and recycling it into usable fuel. From small beginnings we’ve created a successful and sustainable
business. We have a model that works and will work almost anywhere in the world. Now it’s time
to look at new directions.

How can we use the Foundation – its skills, knowledge and expertise – to work globally to encourage people to take better care of the environment and re-use its limited resources? How can we get people the world over to make a contribution, however large or small?

An international mandate
Shortly, throughout the developed world, recycling will become mandatory. All countries, everywhere,
will have to contribute, measurably, to protecting resources, recycling waste products and regenerating urban decay. It is already law in some countries.

And we want to help. That’s why we’re looking globally at viable projects where we know we can make
a valuable longterm contribution to such things as waste recycling, water and irrigation, Information Technology and communications, renovation and regeneration. Things that will enrich entire communities, as well as save and protect their environment and make life better for a lot of people.

Together, we know we can make a difference. Are you ready to help?
